Joseph Reinsel

Joseph Reinsel is a composer working in electronics. His work has been
performed in numerous places on the East Coast and he is presently
performing his own compositions around the northeastern United States. Mr.
Reinsel has completed a Masters of Arts Degree in Music Composition and
Music Technology from Radford University where he did research in the
visualization of sound. These studies evolved from his work in Los Angeles,
CA with film composers and from work with the manipulation of sound and
image in time-based media. Along with his own creative work Mr. Reinsel has
worked with Alex Noyes to build the interactive performance system,
"Electric Kumungo", for Jin Hi Kim. He has collaborated with R.P.I. student
architects and iEAR studios graduate students to build an interactive dance
system for choreographer, Elizabeth Streb. Presently, Mr. Reinsel is
collaborating with violinist, Leroy Jenkins and video artist, Mary Griffin
to build a video performance system for "Jenkins 2", a multi-media opera. He
is also assisting in the construction of an audio/video performance
interface for McLean Mix. Mr. Reinsel also teaches at Simons Rock College
and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute while he completes a third academic
degree in Electronic Arts from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
