***This installment of Shockout's 12-inch series pits a dancehall MC of serious weight and lyrical force against innovative and capable electronic musicians. "Come Back Wicked" is a tuff bad-boy salute to vengeance and confrontation voiced by Jamaican-born MC Wayne Lonesome (The Bug, Razor X). Music is provided by esteemed techno/electronica innovator Timeblind, known for his genre-defying releases on Orthlorng Musork, Drop Bass, Drop Beat, Mutek, Kanzleramt, Communique, and appearances on mix CDs by Laurent Garnier and Josh Wink. Timeblind's seminal "Rastabomba" was one of the first and best ragga-electronica hybrids. Along with the original new dancehall instrumental bonus track "What the...?" these Shockout mixes take things even further, delving into Babylonian abstraction while still swinging a funky Timbaland-on-supercollider beat. Also stepping up to the international soundclash scene are Ove-Naxx and DJ C. The prodigal find of Soot Records, Ove-Naxx pulls off a healthy cross between Aphex Twin and DJ /Rupture. Boston's DJ C (aka EOSS) is well known in the ragga jungle scene for running his own Mash It and Bliss labels, and for helping to found the Toneburst collective.

Description: Quality food and films before 8pm. Deselect used to run the awesome Moog in Nottingham with amazing music, vibe and really good food. Alan moved down to London and he's starting now to do some quality things like he used to up north.

Geoim (skam, city center offices, berkane sol) is also from Nottingham and when I played there he did an absolutely wicked 2step/experimental garage set in about 2003 that convinced me to start messing with those beats. 5 years later and of course we are both into dubstep.
