Played with Sven Vath at Omen in Frankfurt. With Heiko Laux on a european Kanzleramt tour. With Richie Hawtin, Josh Wink,
Laurent Garnier, Joey Beltram, Adam X, Derrick Carter, Spencer Tracy at countless raves throughout the US.

The standout track on I Was No Mind is Hippy Apocalypse, a coil-like 96bpm pit of snakes. I wanted very badly to just stop making techno records, get out of the constraints. Mostly the sound systems sound like shit, and the records that sound good loud sound like shit on your home stereo. And the kids are all on too many drugs.... but you get paid, very well. Everybody I know in techno goes through this.

Moved to New York in Jan 1998.

• Bloatware Orthlorng Musork that for me finally focuses what I want, and what I should be doing. No discernable genre, which of course means its IDM or something. It isn't.

Not being a total hard ass, I still got it together to put out a couple of techno-ey things, but none of them with the dreaded thud, or the high hats, or even any 909 at all. Techno made out of bent-up Guy Called Gerald (91) samples, random radio scans, hip hop and dancehall, samba records and self-built DSP, heavy processing.
