Played Saxophone from the age of 10.

Earliest compositions were tape based, cassette to cassette dubbing. Hub caps, harmonicas, moogs, the family piano prepared. naive industrial folk music.

Dubbed coltrane and Rockit + Run-dmc together to make first dance track in 1983. Rewind the tape, cut back into the beat...the ones and twos ya know. I like invented hip hop man.

Free improv, Massacre/Fred Frith, dark european pop, Gary Newman, Xenakis, Ligeti, Coltrane and Pharoh and Dolphy. Living in Minneapolis but completely failed to have anything to do with Grunge.

Majored in Classical Saxophone at the Eastmen School of Music.

Decided to become a composer, change my major. Too many Throbbing Gristle records led me to realize I didn't want to be a composer in the 'new classical' system. And jazz no longer had the edge of the 70s.

Realizing the true employer-employee relationship with my college, I decided to fire them. I have never regretted this, and have taught myself extensively ever since.

Samplers and saxophone processing (Jon Hassell!) led to more beats and weirder sounds. Drum machines, analog synths.
