moving out of friedrichshain

March 5, 2006, 5:30 pm

I moved out of my place ( €330 a month, friedrichshain, 1 br, nice wood floors, newly renovated ) and moved all of my crap into fredrik's (bless his soul). I'm off to NYC, Tuscon AZ and Bethlehem PA for 1 month; then I'll come back and get a new apartment in Berlin for the summer.

Friedrichshain is getting more student and more gentrified, yet still there just aren't that many actually cool places to eat. Life is about eating (when not making music or fucking with the damned internet). Lots of restaurants, but few with good food and honest style. Some good restaurants in friedrichshain: Meyman, Lemongrass, Amber.

So I'm probably moving up to Prenzlauer Berg or down to Kreuzberg. The summer is wonderful in Berlin, but God help me if I don't manage to avoid next winter. When it first rolls in (the darkness) its nice—time to buckle down and make music undisturbed. My february we are all quite disturbed : Cabin fever.

Where will I go then ?

I am timeblind on myspace. thanks for the add.

I am crucialfelix on del.icio.us which is where I link to all the interesting shit I come across.

I put my photos up on flickr

NYC events iCal : anything that looks good.

Berlin events (parties, shows, vernissage, films): subscribe to google calendar / iCal

When I listen to music at home it all gets echoed onto here and on my Last.fm page. Most of the time I don't use that cause I don't want you to see me obsessively listening to my own mixes, really bad working titles.

You can read some posts I thought were interesting from various feeds.

I've been doing the Dance Music Business Resource since 1995, back when it was on hyperreal.org. Articles and info for artists and small labels. Recently I've been posting interesting industry news items and adding some new content about downloads etc.
