um. for mavado that's not really a good look. in fact I think he's way overstretched these days, going past what he's capable of. he won't last, and he still doesn't have serious vocal skills. he has an aura, that's for sure.

I just got done catching up with dancehall 2007-2008. chiney k, artillery, air waves, old truck ! vybz cartel, godzilla gal (artillery).

mavado, squeeze breast (bluetooth riddim). something about this catches me. but the lyrics: "squeeze her breast like the trigger of my gun. she says she want me, me know she want me, so give me the punnany." lame lame lame. but his voice ! can someone ghost write for this guy ?

together, but that's part of his style now. he's still captivating immediately when he gets on a riddim and that's what its about. but the purist in me says : these are all unfinished trax. some engineer guy pasted lots of takes together. i been dere. i been pasteman. maybe I'm wrong, but I can hear all these splices.

dancehall and rap often has audible splices and it can be a really good thing. that weird effect where the man interrupts himself, to cut in with even more energy. but mavado always seems to be trailing off. then again this spreads this non-commercial non-audience centric vibe that I really like. I LIKE when things aren't eq'd and edited so that you can FEEL the producer thinking about the audience. better that the sound should rest in the sound. make me peer in there and find it.

I'll take alozade any day, but people don't seem to rate him so high. busy signal and aidonia get more frontline attention. aidonia has the most serious verbal skills. I'm sure aidonia is like "back the tape up, ok splice there. i wanna put this little bit here. ready ? wha ? pay attention !"

and speaking about verbal skills ... fuck gangsters. let's talk about Obama "got Verbal Skillz" Barack-ya-mama. those damn flakey left-wing people are starting to complain here and there and criticize and be "individuals"— dem a break from herd. that's not how it works people. democracy is not about being an individual. democracy is not a form of personal expression, like poetry or your wardrobe. being different and unique is NOT the point here. its about forming a solid group around a specific choice and supporting that choice. its more like Football.

the party that can form a united front/coalition wins. guess which party that usually is.

you can wait until after he's elected till you criticize. at this stage: put forth the man's good side, talk him up, beef him up. he's your best friend, don't talk shit about him, especially to our enemies. DO YOU KNOW WHAT OUR ENEMIES ARE CAPABLE OF ?

he's our man, so shut it with the "i'm going to write in the green party/ron paul". do you remember ralph nader ? no ? if Wisconsin didna get 5% subtracted it would've gone Al and no "Supreme" court would've met to judge florida.

I heard this same crap in 2000 — "well al gore is just as bad as the rest of them." and then look what happened. obama flattened ralph nader 2008 with that: "so ralph sed al == george and clearly he woz wrong". and that was the end of ralph 2008.

the planet is in peril. don't talk to me about FISA-blah-fuck-blah and "oh he made a compromise on bill #19346 and shouldn't he never make compromises." yes, he should know when to make compromises.
