go obama !

We (a few Americans and a German) were just talking here in Berlin today about how German politicians are expected to be boring nerds because that’s what the job is all about: nice simple boring stuff about running the economy and state so that the citizens can live their lives.

In the US its like a bunch of cartoon characters acting courageous and pitting good against evil, playing to big stories, grand scales, emotions and all that. In Europe it would be like : isn’t that a bit pretentious ? Just make sure the trash is taken out, the energy concerns are transitioning quickly enough and can we control the price of bread and beer. Politics and big stories got Europe in a lot of trouble in the past.

But America is hyper-real and simulated. We brought you Hollywood, virtual TV wars, massive audiences sequestered in the suburbs. Damn right we need rhetoric.

Damn I hope he wins.

But you know, I pity the fool who does win. Its not going to be an easy job.

I hope he has a plan for how to deal with the inevitable voter fraud. Hillary just won NH with a significant exit poll discrepancy.

By Number of Municipalities Won

Method Hillary Clinton Barack Obama
Diebold Machines 54 33
Hand Count 43 77

My guess is that the republicans feel that Hillary is more defeate-able than Obama, so they are tipping her to win in the primary. Or if a Dem is going to get in, they would prefer it was her than any of the others.

I am timeblind on myspace. thanks for the add.

I am crucialfelix on del.icio.us which is where I link to all the interesting shit I come across.

I put my photos up on flickr

NYC events iCal : anything that looks good.

Berlin events (parties, shows, vernissage, films): subscribe to google calendar / iCal

When I listen to music at home it all gets echoed onto here and on my Last.fm page. Most of the time I don't use that cause I don't want you to see me obsessively listening to my own mixes, really bad working titles.

You can read some posts I thought were interesting from various feeds.

I've been doing the Dance Music Business Resource since 1995, back when it was on hyperreal.org. Articles and info for artists and small labels. Recently I've been posting interesting industry news items and adding some new content about downloads etc.
